Watercolor classes with demonstrations done by the teacher are extremely helpful for learning how to paint with watercolors. There are lots of tricks to learn and watching a good artist paint wet on wet will immediately give you a great start.

This watercolor was done as a 5 X 7 on 140 pound cold press D'Arches paper. When visiting a home in the hills above Santa Monica, California, I was not sure what I wanted to paint, so I allowed my eyes to rest, for a few moments, on each view. The tree made me smile. I know it is a good subject when a photo or scene makes me smile. |
